Cooyar Hotel... 19 kms from observatory.
This historic hotel has 12 spacious rooms, generous hearty meals 7 days a week and big on hospitality.
Behind the hotel is the Swinging Bridge' over Cooyar Creek with a huge camping area suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans.
The Cooyar pub Ph. (07) 4692 6185.owned by Gavin aka 'Spud' Jones also owns the Maidenwell Hotel and takes over the running of the pub as from August 15, 2008.

Yarraman Caravan Park
This is the largest and best caravan park located 1 km from town on the D'Aguliar Highway and just 30 minutes drive to Maidenwell. Lots of modern cabins and camping spaces all with power. Ph. (07) 4163 8185.

Bunya Mountains National Park... 30 kms from observatory.
Situated in a rain forest 1100 M above sea level is the State's best known National park and within easy reach of Brisbane, Sunshine and Gold Coast. There is heaps of chalets to rent and during the day, one can take a walk along the many tracks that meander throughout the rainforest. Just 5kms up the Bunya Road from town, lies the Bunyip Springs farmstay. It is a working farm and a great place to take the kids. They can learn all about farm life, feed the chooks, ride a horse, milk a cow or go trekking on the farm's sprawling 600 acres. The Cottage sleeps 6 and the Lodge sleeps 9. Yarraman Caravan Park
- This is the first and largest caravan park as you come up the D'Aguliar Highway situated just few Kms north of the town. lots of modern cabins and camping spaces all with power.
- The park is handy to shops in town including an IGA supermarket and a great pub -Yarraman Hotel/Motel on the A3.
