  • Bookings essential.. Phone 4164  6194  between 9am and 6pm 7 days a week
  • Night shows not suitable for kids under 5.  No food, smokes or drink allowed onto premises.
  • Night shows start at 7.30pm Sept 1 - Feb 28, and 7pm March 1 - August 31.

Starry nights with no moon, allows you  to view Constellations, Binary and stars, Star Clusters, Nebulae and Galaxies as clear as.

We not only show and tell you of what you are looking at, we give factual information. You are not left guessing as to what you are looking at. Your host astronomer is James Barclay with over 55 years astronomical experience.

Observation Deck seats up to 40 persons.  Discounts prices available for groups of 30 or more.  Five years ago, Ergon Energy replaced (at their own expense) every street light in Maidenwell.  It was their contribution in maintaining dark rural sky settings so MAO visitors could see more stars.

If you want your own PC or Laptop planetarium to see what constellations, stars, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies are up for any night of any year, just click  Stellarium and once done, default the program to your nearest city.

Star cluster

 

Globuar Cluster - NGC 5139 - Omega Centauri...

Omega Centauri is the Southern hemisphere's best known and viewed globular cluster. Best to view and image between April to September each year, with July and August being the best time. You will need a telescopes of 8" or larger aperture and rural dark skies to see this magnificent object in all its glory.
