At left is MAO director, astronomer and photojournalist - James Barclay.

With his incredible passionate knowledge of the Universe, he explains in simple English the what, where, when, why and how, of what you see.

On nights of no moon, you get to see a very beautiful starry sky! View  huge glowing stellar nurseries - nebulae,  beautiful star clusters, and distant galaxies.

On nights of the Moon, you will see our nearest celestial neighbor like you have never seen before! Some exceptional nights we can see craters 10kms diameter!.

All of our night shows include a Star Theatre presentation and a green (registered) laser show, as James takes you on a narrative guided tour of the night sky.

Schools and community groups can camp for free adjacent to the Obs.Hot showers and a modern kitchen with BBQ available for hire to these groups.

Night shows start at 7.30pm during Spring/Summer and 7pm during Autumn/Winter.

Min. of 2 adults to a max. of 40 for a night show. Min. 4 to max. of 70 for a day show. Day shows start times are flexible.
