International Year of Astronomy 2009
2009 AD is the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei - 1564 - 1642 was an Italain scintist who formulated thr basic law of falling bodies, which he verified by careful measurements. He constructed a small telesope with which he studied Lunar craters, and discovered four moons around Jupiter and espoused the Coperican cause.
